Porn Website Donates Fund in Support of Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign

In its second effort to fight breast cancer, a porn website recently announced that it would donate to a foundation which likewise aims to combat breast cancer.

In a news release, adult website pornhub.com announced that it plans to donate 1 cent to Susan G. Komen Foundation for every 30 views of certain breast-related videos in its site. Meaning, the more breasts viewed, the more money will be donated to the foundation. Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation is the largest and most-funded breast cancer organization in the U.S.

It could be remembered that last April, the said adult website had launched its Boob Bus and went across New York City where it provided breast exams to women and men alike. At least twenty-two women and four men actually received breast examinations from a board-certified, licensed medical practitioner during the said campaign.

However, although the adult website is obviously sincere with its efforts to combat breast cancer, a Los Angeles disability lawyer speculated that its recent campaign will definitely spark outrage from critics. For them, such campaigns are purely a marketing strategy that does more in favoring pocketbooks launch rather than it does to help women with the disease.

Breast cancer is one of the major causes of disability and death among women in the U.S. these days. In fact, the American Cancer Society has recorded a significant number of Americans with the disease and an alarming figure of breast cancer-related deaths as well in the past few years.

Going further, despite the criticisms, the company that owns the porn website affirmed through vice president Corey Price that their ultimate goal is to drive awareness towards breast cancer. Therefore, the company eyed this year’s breast cancer awareness month as the best time to launch its second effort to spread awareness of the killer disease. Such efforts are hoped to at least lessen the rising number of breast cancer cases and deaths.

According to recent news, Pornhub’s campaign “Save the Boobs” had surpassed 10 million views, which could mean that the site is on pretty much on track in raising more than $25,000.00 fund for breast cancer awareness by the end of the month. However, it is not yet clear whether the foundation will accept the donation.

Incidentally, disability is not always directly attributed to breast cancer and the likes. In some cases, the disabling condition is the result of several treatments used to fight cancer, like chemotherapy and radiation. If such condition persists, cancer patients may be entitled for long-term disability benefits.
